I have made several comments on The Tattler that John Crawford does not post. I believe that his form of censorship leads his readers to believe that all the commenters agree with him and gives the Tattlers a false sense of numbers and sway. This is neither fair nor ethical. Nor is it becoming of a knight -- or a Sierra Madrean for that matter.
Please post some insightful comments on The Sierra Madre Tattler's site that might be of a different opinion of the Tattlers, or praising someone that the site is slandering... or is just funny.
Try to post I LOVE JOHN BUCHANAN and see if John Crawford puts it up. Tell a nice story about Josh Moran. Or maybe compose an ode to Nancy Walsh and attempt to post it. Try to disparage MaryAnn MacGillivray, and my guess is, it wont get posted.
To be fair, please give John Crawford at least a few hours or maybe even a day or so to post it. Note the time and date of when you posted it and detail how long you waited for it to be posted. (Take a screenshot if you can.) I know he must be working really hard to "moderate" the comments he disagrees with and keep them off his blog.
Please mind your manners, refrain from belittling language, and try to create something positive for Sierra Madre.
When John Crawford inevitably does not post your comment, please post it here under the comments.
I feel the Tattler squeezes out any joy there is in serving Sierra Madre. It is an acrid misery urn (appropriate anagram of Sir Eric Maundry) into which John Crawford allows people to dump all sorts of maliciously polluted water. Well, the solution to pollution is dilution! Let's inundate him with happiness and affirmations of love for our city and the things that our city officials are doing right.
BTW, have you seen www.sierramadretattler.com? Brilliant.
Thanks and happy posting.
Lady Elizabeth Wistar

I posted this around noon today in regards to http://sierramadretattler.blogspot.com/2011/12/convicted-sierra-madre-child.html
"I can't believe that the Tattler is allowing such gossip to take place. I used to enjoy reading this site for good watchdog information. I thought this blog was moderated, and I thought John Crawford had more class than this. The Bob Matheson situation is tragic, and I am sickened that you have chosen to politicize it. This is something that could unite both Tattlers and non-Tattlers against a real evil that infiltrates all realms of society - in all political parties, and all corners of Sierra Madre: Loony Views readers and Tattler readers. You obviously care more about sensationalizing politics than for the welfare of children. I take child abuse VERY seriously and do work for child advocacy and protection groups. The fact is, "A child's risk of being molested by his or her relatives' heterosexual partner is over one hundred times greater than by someone who might be identifiable as being homosexual." This is from the Child Welfare Information Gateway. I am really saddened by the path the Tattler has taken. Good riddance.
to tweet or not to tweet, lady wistar, is the question
I love and respect Joe Mosca and John Buchanan! Please stop the cyber-bullying! Posted at 12:30am 12/15
@9:23 You can follow my Tweets @LadyWistar
Cheers!
John, could you show some leadership as moderator and guide your commenters to a more positive and productive place? I know it probably feels good to allow your readers to malign the folks who beat you at your run for city council, but trying to create connections between our current/former council members and Matheson is out of line. Insinuating they knew what horrific activities Matheson was involved in is reprehensible. Sexual predators are everywhere, in all political parties, and from all walks of life. I found it interesting when you stated that Matheson "insinuated himself into the very top of Sierra Madre society" by hosting Joe Mosca's kick off, hobnobbing with council members, and being a member of the Chamber of Commerce. It's nice to see you finally say something positive about Joe Mosca, our current council members, and the Chamber of Commerce and admit they are the top of our society.
@10:00 A couple of things: First, your comment is borderline snarky. We all know about John Crawford's city council run, but we are trying to help him make wine from those sour grapes. (Maybe it could be featured at the cute new tasting room in town!) Second, please make sure you let us know when you posted, or how long you waited for John Crawford to post it. Lastly, I wholeheartedly concur with John Crawford that Joe Mosca, our current council members, and the Chamber of Commerce are at the top of our society. Cheers, John to agreeing on something!
@9:54 Sir Eric, is that you??? Welcome! I will be guiding my commenters and readers to spread kindness and goodness. It's easy - you should try it!
Good news abounds !!
Why not post on Facebook ??
Love the Lady Wistar line..!
11:36 Because you folks haven't made this ugly enough? Stop with the slander! Be kind to one another. Stop whipping yourselves into a frenzy and politicizing a tragic event. You care more about "hits" than the welfare of children. 12/16 11:45am :)
Please Tattlers, try to put away the political squabbling during this holiday season. You should be spreading kindness and joy. 12/16 11:57
John posts a comment I made about his blog on his home page. The quote reads:
"My last submission supported the blog in that it provides another viewpoint on issues of interest to Sierra Madreans. If it is right or wrong is immaterial. If it gets you involved in the process of being a citizen it is important."
And though I stand by what I said above I must point out John edited my quote leaving out the part where I criticized the blog for the hate speech and overall level of vitriol. Hardly ethical journalism.
Even worse I find the current discussion of Bob Matheson's relationship with Tattler adversaries as being reflective of Crawford's "enemies" morality to be scurrilous. This guilt by association is yellow journalism plain and simple. I hope the Tattler Tattler thrives.
Hope you have a great rest of your day, John Crawford! I am going to go make some gingerbread houses at the school and continue spreading good cheer -- Do some work with children and actually care for them. NOT feign concern for them by surmising which council member knew Matheson and pretending to be concerned for the council members' children. Maybe I'll see you at 4:00 today? Cheers! 12/16 12:32 :)
There is a class at Sierra Madre City College called: How to Grow Your Heart Three Sizes in One Day at 4:00 for anyone that's interested. There's still time to make it. It only costs 1 hug and 25 belly laughs. You can find other dates of this class at the Sierra Madre Patch site under Daily Events. Cheers and happy heart growing!
I posted this earlier today at 12:37 on the Tattler in response to a Tattler calling volunteers somehow affiliated with the Canturburys an expletive that starts with an "a."
12:22 Such boorish language. Lets try not to use bad words. Anybody any age can read this blog. Show some class.
I really appreciate what you're doing here. Thank you for counterbalancing the negativity of the Tattler. I don't even like going to that site. Are you worried that you are sending traffic to the Tattler?
To The Moderator, who is Sir Eric himself, I don't mind posting your comments - I welcome them, in fact. However, please refrain from using such bad language - very unbecoming of a knight, no? If there are expletives in any more of your comments, I will not post them.
Also, I think it's odd that you don't post any of my comments on your site. Why is that?
Rich Johnson, thank you so much for clarifying the quote of yours that John Crawford prominently displays on his site - he even gave it it's own color. John probably feels like he needs your endorsement to help his blog. Do you think it would help mine? Would you like to provide me with a quote I can put on the side? I'll use the same color that John did, but I promise not to edit it.
I was not familiar with the term yellow journalism. Thank you for your kind words.
Yellow journalism: is a type of journalism that presents little or no legitimate well-researched news and instead uses eye-catching headlines to sell more newspapers. Techniques may include exaggerations of news events, scandal-mongering, or sensationalism. (From Wikipedia)
I don't like singling out one color like that. We are all rainbows all the time here!
Rich Johnson, it's should have been its. Sorry, my phone "corrected" it.
uh. oh....the other site is angered,,,,they must have missed the unicorn party
Lady Wistar, a hardy thanks to you for starting this blog. I have always thought a blog that provided a platform for Sierra Madreans to discuss current affairs was a good idea. Unfortunately, I have found that John Crawford's Tattler more often than not (okay...pretty much always) digresses to nothing more than untruths and twisted lies in an attempt to destroy good people's reputations or discredit their work.
I appreciate the premise of Tattler Tattler and will check in often to see what's up in Sierra Madre. Hopefully, if all goes as you have planned, we will have a place to enjoy good productive conversations with opinions that are not driven by anger and fear.
Cheers!
If you don't like the Tattler, don't read it.
Why aren't you posting my comments?
Oh, I get it, you'll post this one right?
Please feel free to correct my grammar. Particularly the use of apostrophes. I hope you add a grammar class to your curriculum.
As for John Crawford, when he stays on point, avoids the vitriol and shares an alternative point of view regarding important issues I am profoundly glad to have his point of view out there. I also applaud the amount of time he must spend researching this valuable information.
However, the "Tattler's" disparaging remarks and recent politicizing of Bob Matheson and his relationship with local leaders and business people is the worst kind of guilt by association accusation. I know Bob Matheson, and was at several fundraising events where he was in attendance. Shall we disparage staff and volunteers of the Library because he was known to frequent the Wine and Cuisine fundraiser? Or is it only the politicians Crawford detests who are suspect? I would like to see the local newspapers reprint pictures wherein Bob Matheson and pro Crawfordites are coincidentally in the same room.
On a few occasions I submitted posts on the "Tattler." Some were published. Most of the time I submitted posts standing behind what I said by using my name. (A few were posted and I was, of course, disparaged.) I challenge people who post on both blogs to use their real names. Stand behind what you are selling or shoveling. I suspect the vitriol would be greatly diminished on the "Tattler" site as well as those posting disparaging remarks on the "Tattler Tattler" site.
A frown is just a smile turned upside down, my friend.
Stuart, will you be providing a list of links such as the tattler has? they're really helpful and i know you are all about helping people find good information.
I was correcting my grammar :) -----> My comment was "...he even gave it it's own color" should have been its. I would never correct grammar of anything positive. Thanks for writing. I am considering switching to FaceBook which would require names, and anonymity would not be an option... plus blogs are so 2000 ;)
